In 1993 DIEGO MERLETTO formed THE FROZEN AUTUMN. At
the very beginning this was just DIEGO's solo project
but ,after few months CLAUDIO BROSIO took part of the
group as session guitar player; in 1994 the first
demotape "OBLIVION"was released and after a little bit
of time the first cd "PALE AWAKENING" was released in
1995 for a German label. Several concerts, many
contributions to various compilations as "L'APPEL DE
LA MUSE" and very good reviews in several "GOTHIC
-WAVE" magazines helped THE FROZEN AUTUMN to become
very well known to the "DARK-ROMANTIC" music lovers.
Diego spent three years on a long musical research
work, at the end of which the Italian label EIBON
RECORDS printed THE FROZEN AUTUMN 's second cd titled
"FRAGMENTS OF MEMORIES". This cd was released at the
end of 1997 in a valuable digipack envelope with
booklet.
In 1998 DIEGO formed STATIC MOVEMENT with ARIANNA
a.k.a FROXEANNE; this is a real "ELECTRO COLD WAVE
DUO" which has released in 1999 a cd digipack+booklet
titled"VISIONARY LANDSCAPES",again with EIBON RECORDS.
The musical style of STATIC MOVEMENT is not so
different from THE FROZEN AUTUMN, but in this case
only electronic instruments are used to create a more
complex and fine sound; there is also the good novelty
of ARIANNA's voice that catalyzes the attention of the
listeners with its beautiful timbre in addition to
DIEGO's .
In June 2000, the re-print of "PALE AWAKENING" was
released under the title of "THE PALE COLLECTION",
asserting THE FROZEN AUTUMN as DIEGO's solo project.
In April 2001 the first part of a video trilogy for
STATIC MOVEMENT called "VISIONARY VIDEOSCAPES" was
released : it's the "NOUVELLE VAGUE" video cd-rom.
In late April 2002, after 18 months of extremely hard
work, THE FROZEN AUTUMN latest album "EMOTIONAL
SCREENING DEVICE" was issued in two different
packagings always for EIBON RECORDS.
In late September 2002, CLAN OF XYMOX "THERE'S NO
TOMORROW" cd-single including a version of the title
track remixed by THE FROZEN AUTUMN was released by
PANDAIMONIUM RECORDS.
In April 2003, THE FROZEN AUTUMN left EIBON RECORDS.

grigia Torino, la band cold wave italiana per
eccellenza: The Frozen Autumn.
Fondati nel 1993 come progetto solista di Diego
Merletto, affiancato dal chitarrista Claudio Brosio
(che lascerà la band nel 1998), l'attuale line-up è
formata dalla coppia Diego ed Arianna.
Il 1994 vede l'uscita del primo demo-tape 'Oblivion'
(solo 200 copie, ormai un pezzo per collezionisti!),
che anticipa il cd d'esordio 'Pale Awakeing' (1994),
il quale porta Diego ed i TFA ad essere apprezzati e
conosciuti in tutta Italia e non solo.
L'anno successivo la pubblicazione di 'Fragments of
Memory' (1997, Eibon Records), Diego forma, gli Static
Movement e con l'uscita di 'Visionary Landscape',
Arianna conquista il pubblico con la sua calda voce e
va ad affiancare ufficialmente Diego nei TFA.
Le aspettative di chi con passione segue la band,
vengono confermate nell'ultimo lavoro musicale 'Emotional
Screening Device' (2002, Eibon Records), che li
consacra una delle migliori cold wave romantic band
degli ultimi tempi.
E' ormai diventato un appuntamento imperdipile per
tutti gli appassionati ed collezionisti! Durante i
loro live concert si trovano i loro vecchi dijicd
oramai esauriti in qualsiasi negozio, non lasciatevi
scappare l'occasione di acquistarne uno, sono dei
capolavori d'arte, curati nei minimi particolari, come
vuole la tradizione dei TFA.
